Creating your first invoice is easy! Follow these steps:

1. Click "New Invoice" from your dashboard or the "+" button in the sidebar
2. Add your client information or select from existing clients
3. Add items with descriptions, quantities, and prices
4. Set your payment terms and due date
5. Preview your invoice and send it to your client

You can also save as draft and come back to complete it later.

Stripe Connect is a payment processing platform that allows you to accept payments directly on your invoices. Here's how it works:

• Setup: Connect your Stripe account to NovaInvoice
• Invoice Payment: Clients can pay directly on invoice pages with cards
• Automatic Processing: Payments are processed securely by Stripe
• Instant Notifications: You're notified when payments are received
• Payouts: Money is deposited to your bank account according to your Stripe settings

Setting up Stripe Connect is straightforward:

1. Go to Settings > Payment Settings
2. Click "Connect with Stripe"
3. You'll be redirected to Stripe to create/connect your account
4. Provide your business information and bank details
5. Complete Stripe's verification process
6. Return to NovaInvoice to finish setup

Once connected, payment buttons will automatically appear on your invoices.

Through Stripe Connect, your clients can pay using:

• Credit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover
• Debit Cards: All major debit cards
• Digital Wallets: Apple Pay, Google Pay (where available)
• Bank Transfers: ACH transfers (US), SEPA (EU), and other local methods
• Buy Now, Pay Later: Services like Klarna and Afterpay (where available)

The available payment methods depend on your location and Stripe account settings.

Payment processing fees are charged by Stripe and vary by location and payment method:

• US: 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction for cards
• EU: 1.4% + €0.25 for European cards, 2.9% + €0.25 for non-European cards
• UK: 1.4% + £0.20 for UK cards, 2.9% + £0.20 for non-UK cards
• ACH/Bank Transfers: 0.8% capped at $5 (US)

NovaInvoice doesn't charge additional fees - you only pay Stripe's processing fees.

Check Stripe's website for the most current rates in your region.

Payout timing depends on your Stripe account settings and location:

• Standard Schedule: 2 business days after payment (US), 1-3 business days (EU)
• Daily Payouts: Available for established accounts
• Weekly Payouts: Every Friday (optional setting)
• Monthly Payouts: On a specific date each month

You can adjust payout schedules in your Stripe dashboard. New accounts may have longer initial payout periods for security.

You can track payments in multiple ways:

• NovaInvoice Dashboard: See payment status updates in real-time
• Invoice Pages: View payment history directly on each invoice
• Reports: Generate payment reports for accounting
• Stripe Dashboard: Detailed transaction history and analytics
• Email Notifications: Instant alerts when payments are received

All payment data syncs automatically between NovaInvoice and Stripe.

Stripe and NovaInvoice handle failed payments and disputes professionally:

• Failed Payments: Clients can retry immediately with a different card
• Automatic Retries: Stripe automatically retries failed payments for certain decline reasons
• Dispute Protection: Stripe provides dispute handling and chargeback protection
• Notifications: You'll be notified immediately of any issues
• Documentation: All payment attempts are logged for record-keeping

For disputes, Stripe provides tools and support to help resolve them quickly.

Yes! NovaInvoice works perfectly without payment processing. You can:

• Send Invoices: Email professional invoices to clients
• Track Status: Monitor when invoices are viewed and downloaded
• Manual Payments: Mark invoices as paid when you receive payment offline
• Payment Instructions: Include your bank details or payment preferences
• Reminders: Send automated payment reminders

Stripe Connect is optional - you can add it later when you're ready to accept online payments.
